Mesh hat crowns are nothing new, but Tilley's perfectionist approach has resulted in a design that provides the superior ventilation of mesh, without sacrificing the strength and machine-washability Tilleys are known for, and without overexposure of sun-sensitive heads to harmful rays. The LTM5 has the same size, shape, and lightweight, quick-drying Nylamonite construction as the popular LT5, with the addition of a band of heavy nylon mesh band around the crown top, where it vents heat and perspiration vapor at the place where they naturally go, and allows cooling breezes to sweep across the top of your head. Blocks 98% of UVA/UVB rays, earning a maximum UPF rating of 50+. Closed-cell foam reinforced brim (2-5/8" front, 2-3/4" back, 2-1/8" sides) holds its optimized shape even when wet, and allows the hat to float, yet is completely packable. Glare-reducing dark olive green underbrim. Stowable front and rear windcord system. Moisture-wicking Hydrofil anti-sweat band. Marine-grade brass vents and grommets. Lifetime replacement warranty.
