If ever there was a hat built for hot, brutal sun environments, this is it. Rather than just using an oversized brim (which seems to have a way of getting in the way at inopportune moments) Tilley designed the shape of the brim for maximum sun efficiency. Front and back (3-1/2") dip down to better shade face and neck, while the unobtrusive 2-1/2" sides turn down to efficiently shield ears and side. The green underbrim minimizes surface and off-water glare, reducing eyestrain and maximizing the effectiveness of polarized or sun glasses. Foam reinforcement keeps optimum brim shape even when soaking wet, and ensures the hat will float. Innovative chincord system provides a variety of hat-securing options for varying boat speed or wind conditions. Premium pre-shrunk 10 oz. cotton duck is treated for water-repellency and mildew resistance. Rust-proof English brass hardware. If you succeed in wearing out this hat, Tilley will replace it for FREE. Color: Khaki w/ Olive underbrim, Natural w/Forest Green underbrim.
