A common complaint among fans of Western straw hats is that just when they're beginning to get good--soft and comfortable, weathered patina, curled brim, sharp pinch--they don't have much life left. This unique hat by Shady Brady starts out with that old cowboy hat look and feel, but has plenty of life in it. Made of Shady Brady's "Unbreakable Raffia Straw", this hat is completely crushable. Roll it, flatten it, fold it...no matter what you do this hat is guaranteed against cracking for one year--no other straw hat we know of offers such a warranty. The pre-shaped curled brim has a synthetic memory wire in the brim that allows the hat to pop back into exactly the same shape after unpacking it. The extremely soft hand of this straw means the hat has head-conforming comfort right out of the box--no break-in period. BIG four-inch brim has an aggressive up-curl on the sides, while the front and back dip down low, providing practical sun protection for the face and neck. Padded taffeta sweatband. Braided jute hatband. Crown height: 4" front, 4' rear, 5" highest point on side. Color: "Dirty" Natural (golden tan).
